Raw chocolate is a simple yet revolutionary approach to chocolate. It contains no sugar or dairy and is suitable for vegans, it is essentially uncooked, unprocessed chocolate in its pure rich essential form sweetened with agave syrup (a natural low GI sweetener). It is a wickedly decadent healthy treat. The cacao is never heated above 45ºC from the time it is picked from the tree to its final state in the chocolate bar and this means that its wealth of phytonutrients are fully intact. Raw chocolate has been tested to have up to 4 times the antioxidants of conventionally processed chocolate.
This particular bar is light chocolate because it has a lower cacao content than the other bars and is therefore not as intense. The lucuma powder comes from the lucuma fruit, which is one of the sapote family and has a creamy citrusy flavour. It is high in vitamins. The maca powder has a slightly bitter, nutty caramelly flavour and is high in protein and minerals. These two flavours combined give the bar a distinctively sweet, caramelly nutty flavour.
