These Vanilla beans are from Papantla in Mexico. They are grown by Totonucan Indigenous Grower Associations, where vanilla originated from.
The vanilla plant was originally domesticated by the Totonucans in Papantla. It is the only place in the world where the vanilla is naturally pollinated by bees. Everywhere else (i.e. tahiti, madagascar, etc) where vanilla is grown, it has to be pollinated by man, otherwise the flowers donīt fruit.
Nothing equals whole, raw, vanilla beans - an exquisite gift from nature. Vanilla has a naturally complex aroma, and a dark, robust flavour.
Use it to flavour endless creations. To use, split the bean open lengthwise, scrape out the thousands of tiny black seeds and add them to your cuisine. If you have a Vita Mix or other powerful blender, you can cut small pieces of the whole bean into your blended creations.
